So I popped my cherry and had my first lowside. Sucks, but the bike's still running. However, I was hoping someone might have the front fairing for an 07 ninja ex500 laying around. If so, a PM would be greatly appreciated.
Next order of business, the actual scenario. Running frontage road, I came in a little to hot for an uphill "S". I leaned in harder to make the turn, but being a dumbshit n00b I didn't account for the "up" part of uphill. Peg hit ground, I followed suit and skid maybe 60 feet into grass. Jacket tore & glove tore on seam, rashed me up a bit, and I torqued my ankle. Bike's still good, though the fairing's fucked, left exhuast is slightly dented (and scratched) and the headlight's barely angled off. Any crash you walk away from, right? Finally, just curious as to some of your memorable bloopers, whether they happened to you or you just happened to see them. |

I don't have any memorable bloopers, yet. But, glad you are ok Arturo.
Hit the pegs? You weren't hanging off like a monkey? |

Hit the pegs? You weren't hanging off like a monkey? n00b fuck up... i'm still not 100% on body position for turns (though i think i've got a good idea what NOT to do now)... i just came in too fast, leaned too hard and decided i didn't like my bike anymore and threw it away... |

Damn, shit happens. Learn from your mistakes. ServiceHonda.com has the best deals on OEM parts. Use RonAyers.com's microfichhe for the part #s and get prices from ServiceHonda's interactive pricing page.
GarageMao does crash repairs also. Post up pics of the damage or I'll take a look next bike night. |

Glad you are okay, happens to all of us. I purposely have not replaced my upper, because for one, it reminds me of my dumb ass mistake, two, I practice wheelies and it may happen again

But let's survey the damage and I can estimate what it would cost total to fix it. We can run some numbers and see what it would cost you out of pocket vs a claim. You can also try to hit eBay for some cheap parts. It also depends on how far you are willing to go to fix your bike. |

Glad you're ok man.
Here's a quick one: pouring rain, ~10pm and 50degF... on my way home I decide it's the perfect conditions to practice emergency braking... . Those limits of traction-- i found 'em ;), and my ass found the concrete. Me and the bike slid through Rush & Division. I was doing a decent job-- slowed from ~45 to 20 or so before the front wheel went sideways.. dumb to start, but the dumber part was that I was riding in the middle of the lane, where I probably hit a slick/oily spot .
otherwise, lose the fairings completely and buy some extra frame sliders. My track bike has six of 'em.. my little porcupine.
