I can't agree with you. Bikes are a niche market with a small target market. Word gets around fast. The only way for CC to survive indefinitely was to get repeat business and referrals. They fucked people over and there goes that house of cards.

Even car dealers which has a larger market share was hurting before the economic crisis. American cars weren't selling for shit because their cars simply sucks. Harley has this lemming following going for them but most car people aren't like that.

You can agree with me, you just won't. Champion has been around since 1960 something or some shit, fucking over people left and right. And keep in mind, the term "fucked over" has been redefined in recent years due to the internet, going from being dishonest and fraudulent, to simply overcharging in relation to the internet. Most people that pay retail would consider themselves fucked over. That precisely is how things have changed. Expectations are redefined as to price and lead time, and those expectations can't sustain a dealership the way it used to.

You can keep fucking people over as long as you can replace them with new people to fuck over. Eventually you will run out of people to fuck over.

True to a certain extent. That would relate to economy as to why there aren't new riders entering the scene though, not the way they treated their customers.

I'm not denying the economy had a part in it. Bikes aren't the cheap toys they use to be. It's an expensive hobby that many people just aren't prepared to take on.

I'm sure he's not the first person in history to borrow a tie. But none the less

Bingo. I've owned six brand new bikes. The last and seventh one was used. Who the hell wants to buy a 600cc bike over 10Gs?

I've yet to own a new bike or pay a dealer to fuck up a bike for me. I do just fine fucking things up on my own.

I've never taken a bike to a dealer to be serviced. I bought all my new bikes under msrp out the door. I got current year models at the end of the season.

I'm finally going to break 10K miles on the Gixxer. Generally this is when I get something new.

I make sure someone loses their ass when I buy a bike from them. If they are forced to live in a cardboard box or rob a bank to stay alive I know I've done my job.

That's what I do.

The acrimony within the Garage Mao brake vac caused it to sabotage the oil pressure sensor on my Ducati! SABOTAGE, I say!

Maybe I'll buy your Gixxer once I'm done paying off my 1912 Ducati.
