Has anyone seen the "Make your own/custom" ear plugs with the ear bud built in? They're on ebay and are like 30 bucks for the kit, but have no idea if it'd be worth it. Phil, you still suggesting those white ear buds over the "over the ear" type earbud/headphone suggestion? I remember someone saying to get the kind that clip up over the top of your ear to keep them in while putting the helmet on. Anyone use this solution? I'd like to do the speakers, but the addition of more sound idea makes sence and would like to avoid that.
I've used the over the ear and in-ear bud style. The over the ear hurts your ears after awhile, especially after your lid moves around. Also, if they get mnoved around, it's a PITA to re-position while on the bike.

The in-ear bud i like. What i do to keep then on is i basically hook the cord over the ear, like the over the ear style earphones, then i trap it under my bandana. If/when it falls off, which rarely happens, i can just sneak a finger up there and push them in. Make sure to put some slack, otherwise, they'll fall out when yo move your head.

Maybe I'll have to find a bandana then... Do you have an extra yellow one I can borrow??

Good tips, maybe I can try to the bandana or skullcap idea with the ear buds I already have and see if they'll stay in better. I don't think I actually have a bandana anymore, where can you pick them up? I think I got mine at a craft store when I lived in Nebraska so maybe that's the place to start looking here?

lol. I got mine from Uncle Dans in downtown Evanston. You can try the Army/Navy Surplus off of Belmont. I got a few there (desert camo, normal camo, red, etc etc).

http://maps.yahoo.com/broadband/#mvt=m&lat=41.937961&lon=-87.666516&zoom=14&tt=army%20surplus&tp=1&q1=Chicago%2520IL

Again, wrap the cord aroudn the ear, put bandana on, make sure that the top of your ear is underneath the bandana as well so when you put your lid on, it doesn't get snagged and falls out.

Another tip is to get a cheap arm band and wrap it around your thigh. It makes changing tunes/volume/play pause easier while you ride. It looks funny but works like a charm.

Are you set on those because of the way they grip into your ear or because of the sound quality?

I think mine came with a set of replacements filters and it came with 3 different kinds of plugs but there's no way to tell if they'll fit those. Prolly not though. Just go buy the real deal.

I think you're the only one who looks for that and likes to point it out. It makes you feel better by trying to point out where you think engineers are trying to brag about their achievements. Did you get kicked out of an engineering program somewhere and hold it against anyone who's gotten there degree in that field? In reality, it was a clarification of what degree I earned while I was there (bachelors) and I see no sense in being ashamed about it. I would think that my statement above was more so bragging about going to one of the best schools in the Big 12 conference, but whatever you feel better about.... ass

As for winter, nothing too exciting. The prairie preserve that was between me and the baseball field dies off and when I was there we didn't get much for snow.
