I had a great time but I'm missing my speed loader for the 92FS and the shotgun has a huge gouge taken out of the ammo tube and the Mosin has a chunk taken out of the stock (the Mosin that I refinished on Thursday evening...). I don't mind other people shooting my pieces but I'm kind of a nazi about caring for these things and am a little perturbed about their present condition. C'est La Vie. Damn dude sorry to hear that about your weapons. I'd hate to see anyone's possessions get damaged in anyway. I have am extra 6 shot tube for the Mossy 500 if you want it. It is mint. You are probably using an 8 shot tube though. |

so you just all shot at rocks or something, i didnt see any targets? i always thought a range was like you stand in the booths and shoot at the pieces of paper or something.

Andy thanks for setting it all up and driving. I am dying to shoot trap again. Next time I'll bring my Mossberg 500 with 21" bird barrel so we have more guns for shooting trap. Want me to call you next time I go shoot sporting clays? It's like trap but way more fun. 21" barrel? That's way short for birds or clays, 21" is almost within tacti-cool shortness .

Meh, I didn't crash out until 3AM, and still got up at 7AM to get everything squared away! Was definitely your loss though... bros before ho's man!!!
burntash wrote:so you just all shot at rocks or something, i didnt see any targets? i always thought a range was like you stand in the booths and shoot at the pieces of paper or something. The area we were shooting in, was called the Pit. There's random garbage strewn about, plus mud puddles, large rocks, etc. It's the largest shooting area and you can mostly do what you want. There is a dedicated pistol and rifle area, where you post up traditional paper targets, and shoot from stalls.
Paladin wrote:Next time we do this It does not end at the range. Weapons cleaning party afterward. All the newbies to shooting if you want to make noise then you got to shine the pipes. I actually find cleaning weapons rather relaxing, and am kind of looking forward to cleaning mine over the next few weeks.
The Chairman wrote:Brian, Kirk and Andy, I definitely owe you guys a beer. You guys have an impressive collection of weapons. Thanks for letting me try them out. Sadly I never got around to shooting any of the AR15s. But there is always next time. Dude, you TOTALLY missed out on the AR-15/M4s. How could you NOT try one of 'em out?!
Ryan wrote:Want me to call you next time I go shoot sporting clays? It's like trap but way more fun. 21" barrel? That's way short for birds or clays, 21" is almost within tacti-cool shortness .Add me to that list too! I've been meaning to buy a second barrel for the Mossberg. One funny memory that I'll add to this thread. When we went to shoot trap, we had another group of shooters to our far left. The way our thrower was throwing, if you loaded up 2 clays, it would throw one short in front of us, but the other would go high 'n wide to the left. Someone was on the firing line, taking 2 birds, and when he went to shoot the 2nd bird that went left, the other shooters on the left had just tossed a bird and their paths crossed in such a way that our shooter's shot tagged BOTH birds at the same time! Thanks to everyone for a great time and more importantly, a SAFE TIME on the range. So... who wants to go back 2 weekends from now? |

Yes Ryan, call me next time you go. I need to measure my bird barrel, it might be a 24" barrel. I have yet to fire a shot out of this barrel on the the 18" barrel.
And next time, I will buy a box or two of .223 ammo for the AR15s. I want to fire off some AR15s. This message was edited 1 time. Last update was at 09/29/2008 05:52:35 PM |

The AR's were more difficult to aim. I could not get used to your scope Paladin, I am sure if I practiced I could be a serious assasin, but I was able to hit 20 oz water bottles with the AK within 2 shots, ask Mao he saw it .

I'd like to go to the next one.
Bek- If you do the instruction thing, I'd be in +1 for that also. I think I'm pretty safe, but I was taught by drunk hillbillys, so I'm probably not. My gf just got her foid in the mail, so she needs instruction fo sho. |

So - Kelly promised us (well, me anyway) the AFTER pix of the wedding. We've posted before from shooting, so it's up to her to follow through and show us how well she cleans up.
Kelly?

Sorry, no pics. The wedding was a bust.
Apparently I cleaned up too well. One of the other guests couldn't manage to keep his God damn hands off me, so I asked my friend to take me home to avoid a scene. I was home by nine. Count me in for the next outing, and sign me up for double duty at the next gun cleaning party.
Edit - I think I'm going to be at mega sports at around 6 tonight if anyone's in the mood.
