Jeff you need more ram in that machine it shall run like shit with 4 gig. I would still argue your choice in video card but to each his own.

did you take your laptop apart and make sure it's dry on the inside. while you have it apart try booting it up without the keyboard connected.

a lot of laptops won't boot with a shorted keyboard. A new laptop keyboard can usually be had for around 50

next time take it apart first before you try to boot it on. That can be the difference between replace a part and replacing a laptop.

nah i know how to take it apart. my sister has the same laptop and spilled juice on hers so i took the keyboard out and replaced it with a new one. so if it comes to that i guess thats what ill do.
