The hearing was so one sided and what a joke it was. It was basically people talking about how dangerous guns are. Well yeah! They are designed to be dangerous. I rolled my eyes when they were talking about a need to ban assault weapons as they outlined the issues they had with people firing assault weapons. I was like, Hello!!! Assault weapons have already been banned. If you ban it again, the criminals will listen this time? Anyhow it has been recessed until Thursday.

A special city council meeting is scheduled for Friday July 2nd at 10am. I will start the stream at 9:55am if anyone is interested in seeing how Chicago will handle repealing the hand gun ban.

You knew it was coming. Lawusit against Daley and City of Chicago. The plaintiffs want to have more than one functional handgun and to be able to carry their gun outside the home for protection. This is going to get good. Too bad it will probably take another 28 years.

Actually there's no way anyone can legally own just yet as they still have to jump through all the hoops Daley set up so that shit is the result of people who illegally own and will continue to illegally own.

I did see the trigger lock and only one handgun thing.

It's one of those many many laws that is not enforceable. Nothing has changed as far as gun ownership and right to carry. It was more of a moral victory. I don't know anyone who is going to voluntarily register their handgun unless conceal carry is involved.

gotta register your single pistol and take classes to own it. i doubt anyone has completed everything because the classes probably haven't even been offered yet

I didn't see where it said you had to have the class in there. or what the extra fees for a registration would be.

It's $15 to register one firearm for 3 years. You are required to take a class. There is also a requirement for gun locks/safes/storage devices for people who have children in the house and/or people that own multiple firearms.

the one handgun thing is stupid but other then that I was expecting a lot worse from him.

There was also liability insurance but that got axed as even Daley knew it would not be constitutional.
