the marathon was crazy. i got stationed at the finish line which was quiet for the first hour and a half to 2 hours. then at like the 2 hour mark people started dropping like flies crossing the line passing out. we were tossing them on oxygen and hauling ass to the hospitals.

No I was riding my bike and ran into all the fuckers running the rock n roll 5k. They had bands setup on stages ever mile or so. So many fat people just walking.

No matter what the race, there are always people having no business racing. The first Shamrock Shuffle I did I was surprised how many walkers there were in the first fucking mile of the race. If you can't run for more than 5 minutes straight why are you racing? Walk your dog with all the other fat women in your neighborhood first.

I'm gonna do the turkey trot this year. I've been running a 5k every night almost. What's a decent time?

Depends on how fast you are and what you are comparing yourself to. The fast people are ridiculous, and you will never ever be that fast until the day you die. My best time so far (I've only done two 5Ks) is 21 minutes at a 7:05 pace. I would like to be under 7 minute miles next time. As long as you are progressing that is all that matters.

I'm shooting for anything under 30. I can do it in 30 minutes on the tread mill at 8% incline so that's what I'll shoot for. I'll go for top 10 in a full time smoker category.

I love the people walking, taking pictures and some of them are even smoking a cigarette during the 5K.

Do you have a watch that displays pace? That helps, though I've only had mine for about two weeks now. Go for 9 minute miles and push yourself.

People walk marathons to say they did them. I dare say marathons are trendy as shit.

But guess who all the emergencies were? The skinny people in spandex pushing themselves for 13 miles. The fat people happily walked across the finish line 3-4 hours later while all the skinny and fit experienced runners were dropping like flies
