On CL last night, I found a full Jardine exhaust (stainless headers, ti pipe, CF can) with a PC3 for $500. At $500 for the exhaust AND power commander, I've almost got to buy it if it's legit. Here's the catch though, the guy lives in Springfield but has no problem shipping it (~$20). He claims he has a dispute with paypal for some 1000RR forks that he never got paid for and would like to be paid some other way. Is there some way I can securely pay this guy and get my new exhaust?

Google checkout works for me. See if he has Google checkout.

Also ask if he has an eBay ID, ask to see his transaction history. Send him a message through eBay and ask that he responds through eBay.

Another way is to do a COD where you pay upon delivery. Problem is he can send you bad crap and you won't know until you open the item up.

The gist is to leave a paper trail of the transaction. Good luck.

yeah, that's what I was looking for. another way to leave a paper trail. I've only used PP or secure CC payments to legit websites before. I was looking for another thing like PP and checkout seems to be it. Thanks Mao!

Not worth the drive or the gas money. Just tell him you're not interested if he doesn't want to do COD or PayPal, I'm not suer how google checkout works.

That's alot of money to risk.

+1, even if it costs $150 in gas, you're still getting a pretty good deal. Make a weekend out of it.

If gas money is the issue, have him meet you halfway. If he's really pressed on getting rid of it, he'll do it.

if you wanna be a dick, offer to take pics of the cash, send it to him, and tell him, "you have pics of my money, so you know i'm good to go. I'll send it out as soon as oyu send me confirmation of shipment and/or a tracking #." I know this sounds kinda funny, but it may work.

If says fuck you, then you know he wanted to dick you over. ANd remember, you're th buyer, so you have every right to not be so trusting, IMO.

Good luck, but i stick with driving out there. What's the length, like 2 hours tops??

3 hours give or take. STL is 4. A girl who bumps uglies with me lives in STL. I think I'm sucking it up and heading there for the weekend. Hell, what I save in the cost of alcohol will come close to the gas money this weekend. Thanks for the help guys.

maybe you should stop in to detroit metro or pittsburgh. your perception on st louis would change for the better.

Last I checked, East STL had the worst crime rate next to Gary Indiana.
