I'm considering getting a new car in the next 6 months or so.........

and i've been contemplating getting a Hybrid of some sort as my commute is absolutely horrible. I spend nearly 80-90 dollars a week in gas. My Accord probably gets anywhere from 17-19 mpg. I'd essentially be saving 40 dollars a week in gas, but then again, my cars been paid off for awhile and not having a car note is nice The Accord is wicked beat up and has like 131k miles on it. I probably wouldn't get more than 3k for the POS.

Which hybrid is the best bang for the buck? prius, civic, lexus ls400h

Also, would you consider me less of a man for driving a Prius or baby blue Civic?(these are the only ones I see, are there any other colors??)

civic. prius gets less mileage in on the highway which IMO is ghey. that's coming from an ex toyota tech.

THAT SAID! It is not worth the extra cost of the car for the amount of gas that you will save. You're better off getting a cheap civic that sips gas.

prius gets the best mileage, but you'll spend over 30k even for a used one. hybrid civic i think is around 25k but gets less mileage then the prius

i say get the lexus 400h. you can afford it with all the money you'll be saving in gas

I *heart* my Civic. Can't go wrong especially with the hybrid.

Oh, and they do make other colors besides blue. I wanted a black 5-speed, but it seems there was a run on black. All they had was gray (though, it actually looks more tan-ish in certain light).

How'd you know it was Romanian? Most of my buddys are Romanian, so I can tell the accent difference.

I bought a 1996 Hyundai Accent. It gets between 37 to 41 mpg. I paid $800 for it My old neon got 20 mpg. By the end of the summer it will pay itself off with the fuel savings. Next year I would love to get a truck that gets 28-32 mpg. I drive 70 miles a day going to and from work.

If you're interested, I got it at Carr's Honda on Western. The salesperson, Erik Capion, was super-cool and not pushy at all. I liked dealing with him. The Romanian manager guy was a little more car-salesman-ish, but whatever. Nothing out of the ordinary.
