I saw a few people post that they stood up girls they met online so I'm curious to see how many of you do the online dating thing and why.

i have no internetz at home so this question does not apply to me, but i will postwhore.

it's just another venue to meet people. I would hate to not meet a really interesting person because I wasn't willing to try it.

same thing goes for girls I would date. I don't care about things that they can't change like height for example. It would suck if the perfect woman for me was way taller then me and I was anti tall person.

walking out on a online date when they don't look like their picture to me is no big deal because it's a lie and you can't build anything on a lie.

I know people that have used it and says it does work.

I think by online dating, they mean exlusive online dating websites or forums. Bobby, meeting someone on here wouldn't really be considered online dating...

I've never considered dating anyone online. It's not my cup of tea.

Yeah that's what I meant. Those sites where you specifically go on them to find a date. Meeting people on forums where you share a common interest is totally different.

Dave and I just went to a wedding of a couple that met on match.com. That's the 3rd couple to get married from there that I know. It can work, but it takes a ton of sorting to find the right person.

my cousin met his wife that way too, funny thins is he was the last person i would have ever though would do the online dating thing. I didnt know thats how they met till during the reception, i had already signed the guestbook thing congrats adn sometthing... you can delete your myspace pages now, never even crossed my mind that might have met on the interwebz

IDK, I feel like it makes you desperate or something to go look for a date online. My friends signed me up on match.com once as a joke and created a profile for me and everything and then told me after they had guys interested. I was so pissed and made them delete my profile.

online people are still people like anyone else. I think this forum proves that. I never met anyone permenant on there obviously but I met lots of cool people. I was also never desperate just used it as another means to met people I wouldn't normally run into.

why even go through the hassle? I find it better to speak to them in person, drop lines and stuff. "Are you into astrology? Cause i'm trying to get into Uranus." That shit don't fly well if typed.
