All this shit about honor, respect, morality. This country, nay this world is all just one giant ego stroke job. The way you dress, act/talk is acceptable one day and not the next. Our entire society is governed by visible laws, and then invisible laws of etiquette. Take your hat off during the national anthem or pledge, feel some good old fashioned American Pride. I've never been outside of this country. And I'm only 24 years old, I've been under Bush, Clinton, Bush all my life. I don't feel any pride towards my government. I'm not going to feel proud to be American just because I fell out of my moms pussy in Chicago/Cook County. And is the land of the free really the land of the free? Sure we have the right to dress or talk as we please, but only in your home. Try being all tattoo'd up, swearing like a sailor, and trying to get a job in the corporate world. You might be smart, educated, and a genius in your field but if you look a certain way you're persecuted for it. Land of opportunity my ass. It doesn't stop at the corporate level, just look at our society. In order to look cool and trendy and suave to get into a club or bar you have to all dress the same. Button down striped shirt, square shoes. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, some people still look like complete douchebags even if they are wearing "appropriate attire." And why is it appropriate attire? Because certain clothes show a sign of respect? Try showing up to a funeral dressed up like a goth or something, everyone would be appauled. You have to dress formal.

But that is the way our society works. We have to censor tits and ass and dirty words. We can say frick, darn, heck, but we can't say fuck, damn, and hell. Why not? They're just words. Words we have given meaning to. We can show bare asses and whole tits but only if the nipple is covered? Why would a girl feel funny about being seen in a bra and panties but be ok wearing a bikini? We have all these invisible social laws of etiquette and just because some asshole made it up that way. Why does taking your hat off mean respect? Why do I have to put my hand on a bible in court and put one hand up in the air? can i leave it at my side? and why am i swearing on a bible, i dont believe in god. We say the country has freedom of religion but we sure as hell don't have freedom from religion. We still have the bible in the court house, we dictate our presidents need to have a good religious/faith background, we still have god printed on our money and in our pledge.

I think people give a shit too much about all these little things that supposedly show respect, morality, whatever. People want to think so highly of themselves, that is the reason we have these invisible laws of etiquette. Everyone wants to stroke each others egos off thinking they are better than you because of an action they do, the clothes they wear, what they believe. If everyone gave less of a shit about each other, we would probably get along a lot better. Whenever you try to question these things in life growing up, or even to another full grown adult, they just answer with "just because" or "thats just the way it is" and no one tries to do a thing about changing it. And we all know its ridiculous the way we live, because comedians make cracks at all these little issues all the time and everyone laughs their ass off and finds it acceptable to criticize it because its true and because its supposed to be funny since its in a comedic setting. But if you try to bring it up anywhere else the issue becomes serious and people start to get offended. I don't get offended by anything, and I mean anything. You can say anything you want to me. Talk all the shit you want. I don't know why I don't give a shit about things in life like that but I don't. I'm just a firm believer in everything is funny or nothing is funny you can't pick and choose what you are and aren't going to get riled up about.

I'm really bad at writing down and putting my thoughts together collectively but there just a lot of shit out there that I think is ruining every aspect of our lives. From the office/government all the way down to the neighborhoods we live in and the places we go for FUN not to compare clothing.

I guess to summarize it all up, I just hate all the bullshit censorship and looking down thats going on these days.

It is true. Americans constantly worry about the wrong shit. They care more about flag pens, who Paris Hilton is screwing, who is the best singer on Ameican Idol, instead of worrying about health care, education, war, and outsourcing of jobs. Trying to keep the minds of Americans on track is like trying to get EndlessRR to fix his fork seals, it is a damn near impossible task . I have mostly given up on my fellow man being able to take in information and come up with a logical decision. My new strategy is to do what I can to survive and adapt to whatever this nation and world throws at me, and try to look out and help out the people closest to me.

Back in the old days they stoned someone to death for adultery. And they still do over in the Middle East. People seem to not get with the times and adapt new rule sets to the world we live in today. New discoveries made, new methods and theories created. Nothing should ever be written in stone. Just look at how gays and blacks and other minorities are still being treated today. I agree with what you say but there's a point where I gotta take off the KMFDM "Rip the System" shirt and say, "fuck rebellion, I want to drive a nice car, afford nice toys and vacation in Europe." That's the side of me that wins out and despite my not liking it, I do enjoy the things that fitting in affords me, whether it be societal acceptance, drunk club sluts or a nice wristwatch. Society makes the rules, you really can't change them, may as well play the game and have as good of a time as possible as you sell your soul down the river.
