Dave I have a question for you. Why wasn't this all taken care of before they sold you the bike. I can's see how a shop so prestine and supposely high end would sell you a bike that was not gone through after doing that much work to it. What would have happened if you where doing 65 mph around a corner when the coolant got all over??? Yeah MCC has my vote

Steve I have no answer for you. They took care of me on other bikes, and this one has issues. The only thing I can do is let them go through it and see if they can repair it.

I never said MCC was a pristene high end shop. I have said they have sold me three bikes at very good prices, and when I had them serviced they did not have any more problems. Either way, it was picked up tonight.

Where did you get that stats? I think bhp is crank hp not rwhp? I look at this site, its says 104.4 and by the looks of it 06 has the most hp 109

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triumph_Daytona_675 BHP is at the crank and RWHP is on the tire on the ground.. A 10-15% loss is normal. |

The first is for an '08, but they are not only the same engine, but my bike has an '08 engine.
http://triumph.co.uk/usa/Daytona%20675_Specifications%20D675.aspx This is a write up on an '07 http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/triumph_daytona_675_2007.php Here is one on a dyno with a chart. The big thing with this bike is the nice flat torque line. http://www.hordpower.com/gallery/album21/Tom675?full=1

I got a call from MCC a bit ago. Coolant leak was a loose clamp near the water pump. MIL was unrelated, due to the exhaust flaps or something. One side was adjusted loose, one was tight. It was adjusted and code was erased. Odviously slipshod work, but its the first time from this shop. Time will tell how it continues to act.

I took the bike for a spin around the corner. It is a totally different bike. The exhaust flaps were causing a big dip in power. This bike is noticeably more powerful than the 996, and harder to upset the rear tire. MIL stayed extinguished, no leaks, and I had them adjust the play in the throttle cable while they had it. I am pretty impressed with this bike. I was a little sketchy going from a 1k bike to a 600, but the power to weight ratio is there on the 675, so I am very happy. And today I asked the wife is she would ride two up with me, and she didn't flip me off like she usually does.

After your test ride, you had a rise in your levis. i said i like it but i told you numerous times that it wasn't all that powerful but you insisted that you hadn't taken it to redline an that it had more to give. i though to myself: whatever. But I still loved that bike for all it's glory. I'll still smoke you on my lil cheap ass 6 though. |
