Just kidding, Jon. Glad to hear that you are ok. The front end and left side of the bike are perfect actually. The right side and subframe are messed up pretty good, the bolts that held the subframe onto the frame actually sheared off and the subframe is resting on the rear wheel. When I get back on my feet and unload the trailer I guess it'll be time to start shopping for parts.

It's not going to be hotness anymore... I would never pay for anything more than spraypaint on a motorcycle hahaha

I would never pay for anything more than spraypaint on a motorcycle hahaha that is where you fail... actually, to get paint, basemaker and clear for a bike costs about a bill for a single color (adding mid-coat or more colors will add more because suppliers don't offer amounts less then a pint). dupont 2 stage paint runs about $45/pint. 1 pint is enough to cover most sportbikes in 2 coats probably 3. rattle can is obviously cheaper tho |

It's less a matter of material cost than it is labor... Joe Denowh w/ Turn One does some great work though and he only charges like $450 so I may actually consider doing it again but...
I dunno, I think beautiful blue Yamaha R6's are my curse. Back in 2004 I bought an immaculate street 2001 R6 and proceeded to highside off of it within a week. Throttle plus 30 degrees w/ light snow was a bad idea obviously. Minor damage but again, it was no longer hotness by the 2nd week. |

Video!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=_PUDBHmYC5I Doesn't show much of the accident but it does show what happened prior to the impact. He downshifted on accident and slowed way the fuck down even though he was pulling me (wtf, I even got a better drive!) just as I was setting up on the outside for a good drive onto the straight. I can think of at least 3 things I could have done better that would have put me in a better spot where the accident would never have happened but hindsight is 20/20 and it looks like I definitely screwed up on this one. Thanks for all the well wishes guys! |
