yah what paiky said. the honda polish should do just fine though but if you wanted to go tradition wax style i recommend meguiars. after trying different brands i've always been happy with meguirs products.

EndlessRR is the man to talk to about this. He cleaned my bike using 6 different chemicals and it never looked better. About a month later, all I had to do was wipe it down with some Plexus and it is back to how it looked when Robby detailed it.
Once you get a coat of wax on the bike, future cleanings quick and easy. This message was edited 1 time. Last update was at 06/05/2008 10:14:55 AM |

Ray, your bike looks cleaner than mine dude.
Anywho, this is what i do, follow these steps:
-Bug/Tar remover for the caked on stuff, and all the other areas. -Followed up with Honda Polish/Plexus to remove the white residue from the Bug/Tar remover. -I then use the ICE LIQUID WAX (comes with a sponge/applicator) on almost EVERY part of the bike, minus the tires. This stuff is the shit, seriously. I leave it on for a few minutes. -Meguires quick detailer for the finish (you can use any quick spray detailer you wish, does not have to be Meguires). It removes the swirls/haze that the other wax leaves. -Go over with M/F towel to clean off any hazing. I know i'm missing a few steps but it's still early, and i'm not fully awake yet lol. It's best to bring the bike over so you can watch me do it. Also, i ONLY use microfiber towels on my vehicles, nothing else (FYI, Bed Bath and Beyond has HUGE M/F towels for sale @ $1 a piece - great price seeing it's $12 for a pack of 6- .
As others have mentioned, a few coats of wax goes a long way. Again, that ICE LIQUID WAX is the SHIT. It lasts long (i've had the same bottle for 2.5 years now, and i still have a qtr of it left). It's pricey ($16 a pop), but it really does work. It can be used on ANY part of the bike, and can be applied on a hot/cold surface. This is the word of the Bob. |

Ray, get ICE LIQUID POLISH. I have a long scratch on my Audi (trunk) and when i use this stuff, it's covered up so well that the scratch is barely noticeable. It's possibly the best wax ever. No white residue, easy on/off, and lasts forever.

I must attest to the awesomeness of Ice liquid polish and Robby's bike detail skills. It has been over a month since Robby cleaned the GSX-R and the bike still looks and feels like glass. All I have done to maintain that look is quickly wipe it down with Plexus, a 15 minute job if that.

For frames I use WD40. It cleans, and leaves a protective surface, hard for dirt and dust to stick. It looks awesome when you are done. Paint I use any decent auto soap, and wd40 for tough spots.

Dave I've found that Pledge works well on frames and plastics that need a little shine. Just don't spray the shit on your seat.
I used to spray that on our wood floors and sock surf across the dining room until my my mom found out by almost cracking her noggin.

Mr. EarMuffs, after being caught in the rain yesterday, the Chairman humbly requests another cleaning session. Make it so.
