Alright bitches... let's ring in the new year with some HEAT! The next Hot As A Mutha's been scheduled... who wants in?
--- Can you take the heat??? Alright, here's the deal. Every so often, Heaven on Seven (extremely renown Chicago cajun restaurant), hosts a special Hot As A Mutha dinner event. This is a full 7 course meal, featuring custom dishes concocted by head chef & owner Jimmy Banos himself. Monday, January 19th, 7PM - Downtown Naperville The return of the Mutha! On Monday, January 19th Jimmy will be hosting a Hot as a Mutha dinner in Naperville. Featuring seven progressively spicy courses, plus one one Cajun Martini to fuel the fire or a Southern Limeade to tame the flame. Only $50 plus tax and gratuity, call now to reserve your seat. I've lost count but have been to at least 6-7 of these. Every single dish, including dessert, features hot spices of some sort. Jimmy, being a master chef, doesn't simply burn the shit out of you though, but integrates great flavor into each dish. Be advised, if you cannot handle jalapeno's, don't even bother. Per Russ (the manager @ Naperville), "I received a shipment of red savina and chocolate habaneros already from our grower in California, and I am due to receive the ghost peppers on Friday. Should be a great dinner." And if you don't know what a ghost pepper is, go look it up on Wikipedia. If you want in, contact me and I will add you to my group reservation as I already have a regular crew amongst my non-biker pals. If you do RSVP, then you MUST show, otherwise I will be charged $50 for your seat. If you need to cancel, you can do so up until the day BEFORE the event. Ooooh...I was looking forward to another one of these! Yum! I might go and order off the regular menu because I am kind of a 'wuss' when it comes to hot stuff. I will know my schedule next week and confirm then.

Is this something we can go to and just order regular food? I'd love to try Cajun food (never really have), but don't want to do the Hot as a Mutha thing.

If you'd like to go there some other evening, then yes, we can meet up and you can sample the regular menu. This event is specifically a 7 course, special event. Because I've been going for so long, Jimmy and management know me, and cut me a little slack, as I have some couples friends where one loves the heat, the other has tried it once but doesn't care for it, but would still like to come out to spend time with the group. For example, Nessey is taking advantage of this "perk," so will be with us and ordering off the regular menu. But this is a something more of an exception, which I'd rather not make the norm, since this night is specifically designated for this event, and you can come in any other time for regular cajun chow. So yeah, let me know when you want to go and I'd be happy to meet up with you there. I'm sure we could get some of the other 2WC locals out there too? |

No, it's always a surprise. Check my past posts... I've posted a few sample menus from past events. |

And I'm sure there's other 2WC members who'd be in |

DJ, you would love to try the foods there but not the Hot As A Mutha event. I went to the last tasting which was a wine tasting dinner and the food was hot! I loved the foods but a bit hot for me. Listen to Andy, he is not trying to be a jerk but he knows his stuff. He would be an excellent 'Cajun Food Guide' for ya!

I'm broke right now, I'll catch you on the next one. I'm selling off Ducati parts to finance the DS-7.
