usually, when i start my bike, it'll have a 'high revving' sound, then 25-30 seconds later it comes down to normal. Yesterday, during start up, i didn't hear this. Something to worry about or is it because the weather is warmer? I'm sure you 600RR owners know what i speak of... danke.

My gixxer does this ever since I installed the 750 engine. I am sure it isn't hurting anything. It only does it for like 3 seconds, then idles normally. There is also a cold start idle map that will rev the bike at higher RPMs when you start a cold bike.

Cool, just making sure that the metal shavings that i left in the airbox have nothing to do with it.

No worries man, you will know when you blow it up . When you press the start button and it doesn't even click cause the starter isn't moving, and there is coolant oozing out of a hole in the front of the engine case, then you need to be worried .

That's the auto choke feature. When it's colder out, it idles higher for a tad longer. When it's warm out like it is today, it won't do a fast idle.
