Anyone ever use one?

As you all know, i am one lazy ass SOB lol, so anything to lessen the workload = good shtuff. I am currently needing an oil change, and have been researching these oil extractors. With all things, it has mixed reviews, but 80% of the feedback is good. Reviews range from removes most of the oil out (most only found .1 ounce after using the extractor, then removing the drain plug), oil changes can be done in under 20 minutes, can be done with work clothes, no mess, so on and so forth.

This is perfect for me since:

1. I don't own a garage, so i don't have tools (proper car jack, stands, ramps, etc.) to do the job. I usually go to my buddies (ShadyTree Shop :hehe) to work on my car.
2. I am one lazy POS.
3. The oil filter is located on the top of the motor, so that means that i NEVER have to lift the car any more.
4. Prevents me from jacking the car up (#3), removing oil pan cover, replacing the drain plug washer.
5. I can do this myself.

I'm looking at this exact one.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JFJM14

The only negative in my eyes is that i have to empty the extractor once it's filled since my car holds 8.5-9 qts of oil.

Share your thoughts.

why not just drive into an audi service shop and drop the $60-$80/oil change?

lulz. Here's a manifest of my VERY 1st oil change, which was done at the stealer:

Castrol Syntec Synthetic 0w-30 European Oil (8 qts) = $61
OEM oil filter, labor, oil disposal = $120.

Yeah, i was out $180 for an oil change, BUT, my old cars oil change interval was every 10k.

Now:
Castrol Syntec Synthetic 0w-30 European Oil (8 qts) = $61
OEM oil filter and crush washer = $21
Labor = free.

I have no problem getting under the car and doing the work, i just don't want to anymore. Plus i hate relying on other peoples garage, so least this way i can do it on my driveway and be done with it.

Oh yeah. Finding EUROPEAN oil is a fuggin' PITA too. Stupid fucking nazi sleds...

Sounds like your car is prime for it.

Two things:

1. I would dump a cheap quart in once you extract it to wash down any thing else and then extract that quart before filling it.

2. I would have it done completely every 3 or 4 changes.

Yes. Comes with a 5ft tube. The model i posted works well with Eurotrash vehicles (a few members on Audizine/Audiworld have used this exact one). Some have had issues with domestics, though.

Tight clearances call for thinner oil. Also supposedly improves fuel efficiency.

I think that's how they work. Better have the engine warm when you try to suck the oil through a 1/4" tube .

I usually run 5w-30 but i switched to 0w-30 for the winter. Then when i went to pick up new oil i could only find 0w-30 European oil. Bitches.

Nope. Just been doing it with all of my cars.

Yeah I figured it was just an Audi/VW spec it had to meet. We don't get too many Audis here at the shop down the street from the trailer park.

i was told german cars from audi/vw require european blended oils. if other lubes are used, their engines go to shit after 40k miles or so.

Got it yesterday, installation was straight forward. Took about 45 minutes with cleaning everything. Everything was going smooth until i had to empty the canister to make room (i removed a grommet to open up the pour spout, when i tried to put it back the grommet was loose for some reason and i had to jerry-rig it with rubber band then voila).

I got 99% of the old oil out (there were a fwe ounces left in the oil filter holder thingy), then filled her back up with 9qts of the synth goodness and checking the dip stick i am a little below the max line = dry pan.

Here are a few dizzying pics of the process. It took more than 30 pumps since the car wasn't as warm as it should've been, but i needed the work out anyways.

1. Tube in dip stick.
2. Canister after 5 minutes.
3. Oil filter location.
4. Canister tube connected to dip stick tube placed in dip stick holder.
