Everyone at bike night saw you ride Steves 749. What did you think of it? I personally love the sound of it, the headlight is growing on me, and I would like a little more power. 5 stars for living up to your word and riding one. Dave13 is jealous.

I think his matching jacket made him fit right in with the Duc poser crowd.

He did look good on it with matching gear, but Colleen still looked better in Ducati brand leather. And CBRay, love the Beemer. The CF are perfect touches. Awesome machine.

I posted this in the group rides forum.

I probably should give a no BS report on the Ducati 749 test ride. It is not like making love to a supermodel. It's like sticking your nuts into a frying pan and sitting on a hot plate to warm your ass. Only rode it for about 15-20 minutes and my back was aching. I can see why the posers only take it to Starbucks. Had to get use to the powerband, it felt very slow even though I was hauling. The Termis sounded very nice. Not a fan of the dry clutch but to each his own. The bike sat too tall for my 5'8" frame but overall, engine braking is phenomenal to say the least. Yay Vtwin. Also the Brembo brakes on it were also phenomenal!!!! Can't say enough about them.

Overall, not a good street bike for me, maybe track bike. But I can see why people like it. To each his own.

Just want to add, I am too use to the explosive power band of the I4s. The 749 felt deceptively slow compared to my 750. Not the bike for me. Ergonomics just didn't fit me.

Wait until you try my 996s. Just as uncomfortable, but
more power.

I'd take the 996s for a spin if it ever makes it out on the streets.

It is pretty but it's no 748/916/996/998.

I wonder if it could out handle my giggy 1k of the same vintage?

I must admit the bike was pretty and if I was a fan of that type of bike, I could learn to live with it. However, I would never go around boasting about it nor would I call it a rare work of art. It did perform like a sportbike should. It's just not my style.

I still want to crush a Ducati 1098. If I ever win the lottery, I would crush the Desmosedici and use it as lawn art. True story.
