So far so good, I don't think it is the stator because once I started the bike on either battery the voltage went up to like 13.8 something. So it is either rectifier, battery or some gremlin in my cables somewhere. We will see. I will carry jumper cables in a bookbag for the next week until I am certain this thing won't leave me stranded . Either that or call Mao to bump start this unbumpstartable gixxer

The battery was definitely the problem. I have ridden about 1k miles since then and there are no more problems. BTW, G2G could not bump start my bike so . Mao, you still want to take that bet, easy money man.

I will give you the wrist excuse, I am sure that will make things much tougher. On a flat surface, I just can't see many people being able to do it without being the bionic man .

My old battery was still reading 12.71v but did not have enough cranking power to start that fucker up. It seems to take a lot more to start this gixxer 600 than other 600s in the class.

Don't confuse voltage for cranks. You can daisy chain two 9volt batteries to make 18volts but it won't start your bike.

And Chief I will take that challenge. You challenged me remember?

Cranks = torque for batteries, and volts = horsepower.

Yes I've heard the term cold cranking amps but never heard amps referred to as cranks. Cranks is obviously some off the wall electrical slang they teach in electric shop at Pol Pot High School.
