What's up kids. I know and like a lot of you from CLSB and I have been lurking for a while to check out what this place is all about. I think the "open discussion with little moderation" idea is interesting but some things are starting to get out of hand. Since all opinions are supposed to be welcome on this site, here are mine:
1. This site is supposed to be a home, free of the terms and conditions found on CLSB, but many of you continue to go over there, push people's buttons, get reprimanded for it, then bitch about it here where the general public can see you bash and slander them to hell. Its not cool and plain rude. If you don't like what's going on over there then let it go and work on building this place up to something more than a place to just react to CLSB. There's enough room on the internet and in the chicagoland area for both sites to exist without all the stupid drama. After all its supposed to be about riding motorcycles. Right? 2. The Asian nation leg-humping was funny and amusing for a bit but its becoming embarrassing. I'm a proud Filipino Asian-American who has worked hard to smash certain stereotypes. This shit is making me want to kick someone in the nuts. 3. I think having another bike night to possibly attend during the week is awesome. I really only care about being around people with a true passion for actually riding whether its on the street or on the track. If this post makes me un-welcomed here, then so be it. I'm just trying to offer some helpful advice and calling it like I see it. |

aw man. WSE, you're a tough act to follow.
hi nolan! there's no room in my life for politics or gossip either. i really could care less which "group" a person belongs to (or even if they don't belong to any group at all). all that matters is the ride. i'm sure i won't be alone in saying this: you and your opinions are welcome here. don't be shy. Howdy!
I agree with you, I just like bikes and female plumbing. I dont see a need for any comments of race, Maby referr to people as "man/woman" or "bastard/bitch" or "prick/cunt". |

Welcome Nolan!
The opinions that are posted here by those that have issuses on CLSB are sometimes issues that cannot be addressed over there as moderators may delete and modify your posts as they see fit. Most of us are still very active members of CLSB and from time to time may experience issues above and beyond the handling capabilities of anyone. If they want to voice their opinion and not get moderated or the thread closed on them so be it. The only thing that is not tolerated is blatant racism or serious phsyical threat or harm. In times past threads at CLSB were deleted for the mere mention of CR. I can understand and respect that as CLSB is more of a structured community or at least that is the direction the admins are taking it. This site however provides a place where ANYONE can come and post what they please and if they so choose to post about an issue at CLSB then so be it. That is the character of that person and not 2WC in general. They don't HAVE to post their gripe at CLSB if they don't want to as the internet is not governed by laws. There is ettiquette however and whether people choose to do what's right or wrong is beyond anyone's control. I agree, Asian leg humping must come to an end especially after what we all witnessed yesterday. It was funny while it lasted and was more of a competition between Flounder, Endless and I more than it was boost the ego or insult the unfortunate victim at any particular time. Sometimes us ghey fockers hump on each others legs for the stupid grin it puts on our faces. An immature way of punching each others shoulders over the internet. But yeah, no more Asian leg humping from me. Leg humping in general? Maybe in good taste from now on with those that I actually know. Having another bike night is great and it is for everyone to enjoy if they so choose. Inviting people from CLSB should not be an issue as it is not an attempt to "recruit" people from CLSB. To recruit someone feels like one is saying that said person is being taken entirely from CLSB which is obviously not the case. Just like you stated it's just another reason to get out during the week and meet a bunch of people who want to ride or pose or eat and socialize. By no means are you "unwelcome" here by me and more than likely most. You (and Kim) are a strong representative of a very healthy way of motorcycling IMO. Us newer guys have a lot to learn from guys like you. Cheers. |

Phil, you are by far one of the most level headed people on this site. Its no wonder why Mao made you a mod.
Nolan, welcome. Most of the shit talking over is all fun and games. Sometimes it gets out of hand in some threads. Just know that half the shit that some internet tough guys say on here is shit they would never say to your face. This message was edited 1 time. Last update was at 06/17/2008 07:26:20 AM |

welcome nolan
can i ask why you think this site has a direct influence on whatever gets posted there? only thing this site could possibly control is what is posted here. but obviously the mandate here is to let members say what they want with the few exceptions. do you think mao or any mod here goes to a person and says, "hey, go over there and start some shiet. then come back here and bitch about it"? yes, the leg humping is getting over-played here, but bob said he is cutting back. my guess is his whip aka chris cracked his ass.

Welcome Nolan.
I have always felt that this site isn't directly related to CLSB at all. Sure it is related because most of us are on both forums. The things that are here are things that don't belong over there and feelings that couldn't be expressed over there. Anytime you put a group of people together you are going to have conflict, that is human nature and when conflict builds people can either lash out causing problems for everyone ( what I like shitting on your own carpet). I have always felt the people here don't want to hurt their home (CLSB) and decided to shit somewhere else. That in itself is only a fraction of what is posted here. 2WC is a good place to express yourself and let go of pent up angst from any venue. So in that respect I believe most not all are trying to preserve CLSB not damage it. |

Welcome Nolan. You have some very valid points. It is definitely something that needs to be addressed further and not swept under the rug. I'd like to focus more on bike related topics myself.

People do things on their own accord and not under my command. I only wish I had that kind of power. I'd use it to build an army and take over the world!

In any case, welcome Nolan. |

I think there is a direct influence mainly because most of us are now members of both sites along with plenty of people who lurk since these are public forums. When drama gets posted up over here it affects anyone who reads it and word travels fast. Since there is so much commonality between the two sites, its not long before public insults get back and hurt/angry feelings result. I don't think the admins on this site tell people what to do and I apologize if that is how it came out. My intent was to ask everyone in general to just move on and have fun. Summer is over in a couple months. I appreciate all the other responses as well. I look forward to riding out to a bike night, putting on some miles, or seeing some of you people at a trackday.

Nolan again you have some very good points. We have a lot of growing pains and barriers to overcome. I prefer there would be less issues and more bike related topics but hey we don't live in a perfect world.
At the same time though, I would like to address legitimate concerns, such as your's. I like to put a spot light on issues rather than pretend everything is fine and dandy when all hell is about to break loose. |

It must be the phase of the moon. Way too much drama going on the forums lately (besides here and clsb).
People need to chill a bit. Maybe it's the pre f4t anxiety.... |

Welcome Nolan
I have a multiple personality disorder. I'm not sure which one agrees with you but one of them sort of does. It's a public forum. You insult someone here it's not to hard for it to get to the insulted person and bring shit back and forth. You don't see any post about 2w on clsb, but you see posts here about clsb just saying i'm going to drop the kids off at the pool now. |

Welcome Nolan
. Very good points. It's not my style to bitch about things either, except for CC (even that gets old ), but that's it. I just keep on keeping on. I am also in strong favor of free speech. It is always a good thing to know where you stand and what people are thinking, even if it is negative. As others have said, we can't control what other people say and do, they are being themselves, and their posts are what they wished to express. Like you, I am always about riding first, BSing around second . No one wants this to turn into a Conservative/Liberal gang thing , we are all in it for the love of motorcycles, riding, and socializing .

I really like to hear what everyone has to say about both of the sites because it brings up some good ideas if people are willing to listen.
From what I enjoy about here that it is more or a speak your mind and just bs with anything that you really have your mind on with out someone saying "hay lets keep it clean". People are venting because they want someone to react and do something about it. Not for someone to be like can I get everyones opion about this and get it settled. Not always the right direction ya know. Keep up the good work folks!! I like whats going on but it's true, we need to unite as bikers and not from site to site.... OH, Welcome Nolan1000 |
