skeez 2 Wheel Commando Joined: 06/30/2008 Messages: 442 Location: ninja vanish Offline		so my stator went bad at the beginning of the season and from what ive been reading is not an uncommon problem with 04 1000RRs. but, with a couple hours and the help of garage mao the black beauty is up n runnin again had to fight off both his dogs (which im surprised he hasnt eaten yet) while waitin for bike to cool down but that was a price i was willing to pay. AND now ive got that RED liquid gasket which i heard makes you faster THANKS GARAGE MAO always a pleasure!!

I hate doing stators as it's messy but glad I could help. Anyone who attempts this, please watch where you put your fingers. That magnet is strong! You do not want to get pinched!

The Whale 2 Wheel Cyborg Joined: 04/20/2008 Messages: 38885 Location: The AP Offline		We had to wait for the bike to cool. That and we had to go buy oil, scrape the old stator cover clean and fill it back with oil. Removing and installing the fairings back is a PITA also.
