Battery is dead but when I jumped it, it started on the first kick. Runs and idles just fine. All the lights and signals work. I just need to fix the front brake and get the electric start working.

Running tally of money spent to date
$600 for bike
$4 for quart of Penzol 10w40
$38 for new battery
$25 for set of new mirrors

PP was kind enough to let me store the bike at his place for the mean time.

Got a bit of work done this weekend. Picked up used battery from Mort. Cleaned the connections and hooked up the battery to the bike. Like magic all the lights and even the electric starter works again. Electric start works. Headlights work. Signals work. The bike idles fine and everything. Battery is a tad too large for the battery box so I will try to mod the battery box or just get a smaller battery that fits in there.

All that is left to do is redo the front brake and the bike is ride able again. There is a bit of oil residue where the cooling fins meet the top of the engine, so I may have to replace some gaskets in the future. Other than that I will tune up the bike a bit and then it's all cosmetic fixes.

Money spent so far
$600 for bike
$5 for battery
$4 for quart of Penzol 10w40

Nice job on the lowball for the battery. Now spend $1.99 on a can of carb cleaner and clean the carbs and petcock.

It's an old battery and I can't get it to fit in the battery box. I may just end up buying a new battery.

Installed new battery and rode the 350 around for about 20 minutes today. Bike starts and runs like a champ. Front brake still needs to be rebuilt. Rear brake is excellent. Need to clean out the carbs as the bike will only idle/run with the choke on. Shut the choke off and it will idle for a bit and then dies. Need to get some carb cleaner.

By spring time, I should have plates and the front brake working on it. I'll bring it out so you can ride it.

(cough) bullshit! (cough)

Mao don't forget what your time is worth. At $92.50 an hour you probably have about $4K into this thing.
