I know people mean well with them and I am thankful to receive them as gifts but WTF! Gift cards are the biggest ripoffs ever. Let's trade in your hard earned cash that can be used anywhere for a piece of plastic that is good for credit at a particular retailer. Better use it before it expires. Watch out for the hidden fees.

And worse of all I keep getting these $25 gift cards from people. I can't get shit for $25. I end up spending my hard earn cash just so I don't waste the gift cards. It's great for the retailers but sucks for the consumer.

One of my employees gave me a $50 giftcard to any Lettuce Entertain you participating restaurants. I plan on using it on my birfday.

What happened to the days of a crisp $100 bill for a present tucked neatly in to a card you didn't read anyways?

Western custom have ruined it for the Asians that know what I'm talking about. I'd gladly take a 1/4 ounce of gold or the like as well

My p's still do that every year. HEll, they don't even use a card, they use the free envelopes from Harris bank.
