it's a ping, not a full refresh. it executes approximately every 5 minutes. it's a minimalist action to keep the user session active. i'm not sure how that would qualify as "sucking up" bandwidth

Is it necessary to keeping a person logged in? Just wondering. Everything sucks up bandwith when you have a meager 5 gig limit on an aircard

i guess we could extend the time between pings. only negative i can think of is the user count would become more inaccurate.

yeah leave it be. i didn't know that you'd have to log in again if it didn't ping. having to log in just cause you went to go eat or shit is ghey. i thought that checking the box to keep you logged in would take care of that but i guess not
