mao said some users expressed to him a desire to have auto-login enabled across computers. this software uses 4 cookies. one of these cookies is autologin. this is not used for what most of you think it is for. we do not use these cookies to automatically log your account in when you hit the site. this is for security reasons. the software assumes all computers are public. we're going to keep it this way. i apologize for the inconvenience of having to login at different computers but it is safer for you and us.

thanks

If you tell your browser to remember your username and password, it ain't all that bad.

Thanks for trying Mao!

Hey Mort. We're talking about having multiple computers remember our passwords and user names.

This feature works perfectly on vBulletin across multiple computers.

and so am I

When you enter your username and password and hit login, a notice pops up asking if you want "Remember me on this computer" and if you hit "always" it will remember you

The reason we chose JForum was to be different and so that we can add our own functionality. We debated this for quite some time and could have saved a lot of headaches by just using cookie cutter vBulletin. But in the end, we opted to be more unique than all the cookie cutter forums out there. At times it has came back to haunt us.

Correct, however vBulletin allows extensive modifications. There are several hundred hooks you can use within the software, the templates are fullly modifiable, and there is almost nothing you can't change in it.
