Well, JD/GPz1100 and I got back into town Sunday the 22nd, around 11:45 PM. As you may have seen in a previous post we covered a little over 1500 miles I have 1535. I had a good time and didn’t mind the rain. It was the two bears, three deer, and snake on the road that we could have done without! :spit Hell, I thought I was playing Frogger! And the I-94 cars on the way back home made me feel like I was on a track at Indy or Daytona!
I learned a couple of things about the Garmin Zumo on the trip, thanks JD/GPz1100. I also realize that I’ll probably go with a zero gravity Sport Touring Windscreen for the Hayabusa to give a little more protection from wind, bugs, rain. I got used to my 2up windshield on the VTX1800R, also at high speeds the GIVI 46 liter case held up  ! Oh yeah, the last mile coming home I made a left turn and heard a loud bang. At first I thought the chain broke but I was still move and shifting. Then I thought if was my rear tire, since I was down the street from my house I said piss on it and road it home and didn’t care if I damage anything more (I did notice it made a sound only when I leaned the bike into a left turn). So, I pulled into the drive way and seen that the rear exhaust bolt came loose and it was hanging off the bike. It scrapped up the exhaust and made a little scratch on the belly pan. I laughed my ass off and figure if this was going to be the worst thing to happen on this trip, I’ll take it! All in all we had a good time and made it home safe, which in my book is all that matters. Enjoy the pictures and thanks JD for setting up the ride.

Gas fill up and break in Stockton
Galena lunch stop, JD's water bottle cap broke in his saddle bag so he was drying off his shirt.. ![]()
Lunch was at Vinny;s in Galena.
Some pics through Iowa
Looks like a pretty easy fish tank to maintain!
The Lodge at Crooked Lake
Pulled over to put on the rain gear. On the second day I had three layers of pants on which included my rain pants. So, JD you owe me one since it didn't rain at all the third day....LOL!
Can't really see the exhaust that well, but you get the idea. It was late and I didn't/couldn't figure out the flash on the camera. Spent Monday cleaning the bike, removing bugs, getting new bolt, and changing the oil. This message was edited 2 times. Last update was at 06/24/2008 11:45:24 PM |
