Good shit, all they need to do is seriously fine employers benefiting from illegal immigrant labor to almost bankrupsy and this will end tomorrow. Thank goodness I don't go to restaurants often . People act like it would be the end of the world, it won't. High school kids will take those jobs again like was done for a shit ton of years in the past. Now teenagers can't get a job, they are all stuck at home smoking weed and playing Xbox, time for them to go back to work.

I am quite certain that that's a myth. The cotton industry didn't die when slavery was abolished. Industry will find a way to automate/ mechanize food prep and harvesting. They tried to play that off in that movie A Day Without a Mexican. Won't happen.

I doubt that. Restaurants will find other ways to cut corners and automate food prep. It's not like these were highly skilled employees. More teens will enter the restaurant trade.

i doubt teens will take up the slack. there is no other group of wager earners out there which would do that work for the current amount of pay. even a few years ago the mexican president said that mexicans do work for pay that not even the american black would do. that caused a ruckus for a few weeks

Industry will find a way. More automation and mechanization. Look at the harvest industry. There are more and more machines that automate harvesting of crops.

Even if the teens don't do it, the industry will adapt and overcome. There has to be some states way up north where illegal Mexican workers aren't working in the kitchen. If they can do it, AZ can also.

Exactly, this is the problem, teens can't even get a job now because even the restaurant jobs are taken. And they will work those jobs, not everyone is rich and well off and can live off their parents money and allowance. The cash the teens will make from these jobs will pay for their clothes, insurance for their cars, school bills, etc. This worked well for me when I worked at Hollywood Video in high school for 5.15/hr.
