Red light cameras to catch speeders? I am am quite certain this is illegal, which is why red light camera tickets are treated as non-moving violations. Let's see how crafty our Mayor will get with interpreting the law.

It's Chicago. They will do whatever they want, whether it is legal or not.

I just read the first part of the article. Of course they want it in school zones first. For the children! Someone should light every politician in this country on fire.

Well they need to get it approved by the IL legislature, as the current laws need to be modified. Then it is up to the Alderman to implement it. I think it would be political suicide to do this but who knows.
