Damn... I'm out. No marinated mushrooms or balsamic & honey glazed pork chops for you.

Bwahahaha... this just happened to a friend of mine earlier this morning...
--
This was a conversation a coworker had. She was told by our boss that another manager (in another building) had taken off the rest of the day for a "snip job", so she assumed he was getting a haircut. When he called the next day, the conversation went like this:
She: Hi, how did everything do yesterday?
He: Errr, fine.
She: How does it look?
He: Like a shaved rat.
She: How do the kids like it?
He: (by this time mystified) What do you think I did?
She: Ummmm.. haircut?
At this point she turned to me and asked what a snip job was. I explained to her, she turned beet red and bolted from the room.

Officially no, we're supposed to be business casual except Fridays... but I've made a personal point to flaunt the dress code around here. I'm stickin it to da man!

mao - i will need your date of birth, social security number and blood type too You won't find Mao on any of the official books. Mao is my alias and only used on forums, junk mail and magazine subscriptions. I even interchange my first and middle name sometimes. And it's AB positive. SSN please? You sure he's even got any credit to tap into? You might be in for a rude awakening!

Try using an orange, peach, or pineapple glaze, or if you're really adventurous, a balsamic & honey glaze.
Now THAT'S Good Eats!

Green Mill, FTW! A couple of other interesting places, that just popped into my head...
Pops for Champagne (their new location's really nice, though I miss the old one for its ecclectic atmosphere)
Green Dolphin Street
Katerina's (my friends Prof. John & Nicole Kestler perform there every now and then)

Also, totally agree about trying the city restaurants. Over the past few days I've realized that I have no interest in going to a chain restaurant again. It just doesn't compare to the small hole in the wall restaurants in the city. Had Smoque BBQ last night and OMG... YUMMY!!! LOVE that place - will definitely be making a trip there for a concert or 2 this year.
+1 on the new restaurants. chains are okay....but i'd much rather try something new!!! some of the best places i've eaten in Milwaukee were tucked away and FABULOUS! the atmosphere, food, people...

Check out a Second City show...

Chicago Haunted Ghost Tour...
House of Blues...
Dick's Last Resort...
Chicago Gangster Tour...
As far as food goes, that's one thing I *LOVE* about this city. You could go eat at a different place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and go a whole year without eating at the same place!
Festivals... Chicago's got a billion of 'em & Metromix is your friend...
http://chicago.metromix.com/events/article/chicago-festival-guide-2008/339943/content wooohoooooooooooooooooo i haven't heard of a lot of those things so thank you thank you thank you!
what is there to do in chinatown? Mostly eat, poke your head into interesting shops, and just take in the whole interesting atmosphere. It's like a different world in that neck of the woods.
Now that I have some coffee in me, let's see if I can't add to the list...
Dine in Greektown
Chicago Architecture Tour
Evening drinks @ the Signature Room in the Hancock Building (arguably one of the best views of the city)
Howl At The Moon (dueling piano bar - always get in trouble there w. my JPMChase crew)
The beauty is that you can easily combine a number of these things into one long day trip.
Check out www.weirdchicago.com, for a variety of more interesting tours... including a Chicago "Sex Tour."
And if you ever do decide to hit a Second City show (which I recommend as a MUST), and don't mind another tag-along, let me know. I haven't been to one in a few years (a buddy of mine used to perform with 'em, so I'd be out there often), and I really miss it. Consider it the price for all of the information I've just shared! ;-)

I was actually thinking of doing it for this Sunday 07/13/08. I say ride for a bit in the morning then come back and grill. Dangit, I'm busy Sunday... can't man your grill.

500 HKD = 64.10 USD Give or take, yes. Even better, HKD is tied directly to USD, so we're not negatively affected by the tanking dollar! Go to HKG and go get some! :-p
(It's actually a fun city, I was there with friends for a week back in March.)
