I (like you) use the light in the garage. Its going to get dropped, stepped on, etc. In my experience, everything I dropped the light the bulb would break. I was using the standard incondecent for teh most part. I think I used the type you have on there once and it broke as well. After a while I got tired of buying bulbs and replacing them twice a day when I was working so I bought the halogen. The bulb never broke. It broke after a year, but the halogen bulb was alright.

Retractable or not, I will never buy a drop/shop light that uses a standard bulb. I was going through bulbs like water when I used to used to use the standard one. I have the halogen or whatever now. It uses a long straight bulb and doesn't have a filament. I never had a problem with it.

The only part I really don't understand is how to install the new chain (riveting it) and how do you know when to take off links. The rest isn't really that bad I don't think. You have to remove the rear wheel to swap the sprocket. Front sprocket is held on by a bolt. The chain adjuster is pretty easy to work as well.

I used to go to the one in the city when I was younger since it was near my Sunday school. I go to the one in Skokie now (near Oakton and Crawford).

At first I thought that the 749 headlights where hideous, but it grew on me and I like them. I too am curious to see how a 749 rides. Its on the short list for my next bike in like 4 years (it is at the bottom). I would have thought that the V-Twin would provide plenty of power in the low RPMs. The one gripe I have with the 600RR is the lack of power in the lower RPMs.

Chgorrguy wrote:Speaking of bleeding brakes...MitiVac's are f'in awesome. I did my clutch and brakes over the weekend and not one dropped spilled. Only issue was the clutch bleeder bolt was letting air in through the screw threads, so I drained it, pulled it out and put on some plumbers tape to seal it up.
Its rewarding to do your own shit. I tried to use a MityVac once, it drove me insane and I returned it. I bleed old school, with a cup and a rubber hose. Hasn't failed me yet.

I need to change my brake fluid. It is brown. I'm not sure what kind of fluid to use. I want to use ATE super blue, but it will cost me $20 to order it from Amazon. Anyone know where I can get ATE locally? Or should I just use regular fluid? I put regular DOT4 in my Ninja 250 b/c I don't really care about that bike.

It's called shut up and listen. Just shutting up would have sufficed. Its not like she was going to give you a 10 questions quiz later.
