The last time I sparred I broke a rib and it took forever to heal, then by the time it healed my upper row of teeth were killing me so I had to get all that fixed. I'm about ready to go back but will probably just fuck around a couple days a week. My friends that fought mma worked with me a little but that was just kicking/kneeing bags and pads. I got kicked hard in the thigh once and had absolutely zero interest in ever getting kicked again.
