You are right, it happens so fast that there is very little time to react. I feel mine was caused by a split second lapse in concentration. I can't explain why I did what I did but luckily I survived to ride another day and no one else got hurt. My friends came to the rescue that day. I was wearing the best protection I could afford, bike was well maintained and had good rubber. Rider error, lesson learned. It's a numbers game and everyones time will come.

Back to the numbers!

Mine was pure rider error as well if that makes you feel any better....and my time has come at least 7 or 8 times if not more in my decade or so of riding.....i've been lucky enough where only once out of all those times I haven't been able to get right back up dust off and get back on the bike immediately....oddly enough that one time wasn't when I highsided.

Oh yeah it was interesting to find out first hand that even a 13 year old 600 with brand new DOT race tires has enough power to put you on your ass in a spectacular fashion......so much for all the posers that claim they ride their 1000's to the limit.

Not as spectacular as yours Chuck....just a minor highside- Barber-museum corner. I always think how cool it would have looked if someone had video taped it if for nothing else just so that I know which way I flew off the bike and landed. It happened so quick that one moment I was rocking and rolling with my knee on the ground the next it was ground-sky-ground-bike-sky-ground....no idea which way I flew just a bitching body pain the next couple of days to show for it.

One name Neil deGrasse Tyson......look him up if you are into astronomy/astrophysics. I just started listening to his talks on youtube and reading about him a couple weeks ago and I feel like an astronomer already.

no dont you remember it being green? It was fixed within a week of it getting dropped. Thats not even close to a factory color LOL. I have another members parts that will be done by the weekend. Not sure if he wants it posted so I will not mention his name unless he says ok. I will be getting pics before, during and after also.

Nope I never saw it when it was green...I thought it was the burnt orangish color from the factory
