They guy confirmed he did do track days on it, BUT IT ONLY HAS 270 miles on the ODO!

First of all, I'm afraid he removed the speedometer, BUT if he didn't, it wasn't properly broken in, no?

I got the guy to do $6250 OTD, what do you think?

Otherwise, it's completely stock and looks to be in pristine condition.

Did my clutch cable give out?

Did my clutch cable give out?

So I was riding around and about to park, I backed it in while in 1st and clutch held in, I went to kick it up into N, and it stalled. I didn’t think much of it and did what I had to do. Came back and started it up fine, pulled clutch in, it had good tension like nothing was wrong and kicked it down into first and BAM, stalled. I figured maybe I didn’t hold the clutch all the way down, since I’m a noob still (only 1 month of riding). Did it again and same results. I can shift from N to 1st or 2nd without the clutch being held in now but obviously it stalls out. I tired reving it up and kicking it down into first and it seems like I can get it to move a bit, I didn’t want to try since I’m still a noob.

Did my clutch cable give out? Something else wrong? I always thought when your clutch cable goes out you have no tension in the lever. Like in a car people say “my pedal hit the floor” How easy is this fix? I cant see the routing of the cable due to the fairings being on, it doesn’t look all too crazy, 8mm socket on the part that connects to my engine. How often do these go out?
I just cleaned and lube up the chain for the first time, not sure if that helped in making things worst.

2004 sukuki gs500 with 10k miles on it.

Giving RonI's SS Heavy Bar Ends a Try

I finally got around to installing the bar ends RonI made me. Hopefully the longer and heavier SS bar ends will get rid of the vibration at the clipons. I'm not a big fan of how they look right now as they look weird being that long and SS. Maybe a little paint/powder coat/ will change that. Will give it a test ride this afternoon to see how well they perform.

So I got another new toy =)

sold the 04 and got the 06.....basically a wash since I sold the rashed fairings and got new ones YAY!!!!

I've always wanted this model GSXR 1000, I never liked the new ones.

I PROMISE I will stick with this one now lol.

I actually got this one a couple of weeks back, I just finished fixing it up.

7300 miles. I can't complain! I think I'm going to powder coat the wheels white.

Nice thing is that the front suspension is sprung a little heavier in the K5 k6 model, so I don't have to redo the springs!

New TRE Method for Suzukis

All the TRE mods I read require a double pole double throw (DPDT) switch. These are barely available outside of Radio Shack, plus your options are somewhat limited.

The original TRE mod also told you to completely CUT the Black/White wire. This wire is used as a common for other components, so I'm not sure how disconnecting this wire will affect other systems in the electrical portion of the motorcycle. I think my new way is a little safer for the electrical system.

There are bunch of SPDT switches at AutoZone, PepBoys, and Advanced Auto which are used for lighting switches. Some are even water resistant.

new parts

Now that I'm getting back on the bike to go to work, I thought that it'd be nice to ditch the crappy windscreen that I have now.
Just bought a 2003 R1 with 2wheelchicago.com decal

So i just got a 2003 limited edition black with flames r1 from an insurance auction. I am wondering if anyone here can give me more info about it. It was involved in what looks like a head on crash of some kind, its missing the headlights, upper fairing, and speedo. The bike has micron high mount exhaust and a tank protector that says "dont worry I wont go fast" I just think it would be cool to know a little of the history on this bike. Miles? thanks
